Thousands apply for jobs at new Wal-Mart (outside Chicago)
http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-walmart26.html
Nearly 25,000 people applied for 350 jobs at a new Wal-Mart located just outside the city limits of Chicago. So much for the preposterous claims that the retailer doesn’t pay enough or treat its workers well. City officials who had tried to bring the retailer inside the city limits only to be frustrated by union-backed pols could only shake their heads. Evergreen Park, not Chicago, will benefit from the $1 million in annual sales and property taxes generated by the store.

And check the pathetic response of a labor-funded critic to news that almost 25,000 Chicagoans applied to work at the new store.
